Testing

I'm trying to find a new video hosting service that allows embed videos, because YouTube is really making an ass out of itself with my videos lately. I'm just posting this to see how a Filefront stream works, because I fully intend to use this, or whatever other video hosting service, to host my slide show detailing Alex and I's trip to LA.

That's right, I haven't forgotten about that. It's just about done.

thraxozz_betweensheets.avi

Here's hoping this works.

EDIT:: Eh, the quality kind of sucks, at least on the music video. Maybe it'll be kinder to a slide show. Just in case, I'm gonna keep looking for another hosting service, but if I can't find anything else by the time I'm done, I'll use this to embed my sideshow to my blog.

Happy Halloween

See those geeks?

Aren't they geeky?

Don't they simply exude pure geek?

Yeah, I thought so too. The geeks you see in the picture above are myself (left) and Alex (right), in our costumes for Halloween this year. Fun was had, though washing all that face paint, hair color, mousse, and hairspray out was significantly less thrilling.

For Halloween, my honey Alex cosplayed Zul'jin the Amani Forest troll, one of his favorite characters from the Warcraft games. Seriously. He wants to have his babies.

I cosplayed as Thrax, aka El Muerte Rojo, or The Red Death, from the fantastic movie Osmosis Jones. I only wish I could use that long claw to set stuff on fire like he can. Oh well.

Hurray for geekiness! Hope we have as much fun next year's Halloween.

Blizzcon - An Update

I'm in the process of sorting through all the photos I intend to use for a slide show featuring the highlights of me 'n Alex's trip to LA. Bear with me a bit longer, sorry I'm taking so long. ^_^;

Blizzcon

Woo, finally back from LA! I'll go into more detail about the trip later, I'm too tired right now. *faint* x_x

So Long and Thanks For All the Fish

Well, tomorrow is the morning Alex and I leave for LA! We'll be packing up tonight and plan everything out tonight, and leave tomorrow to stay at a motel before we get on our plane the next day. We'll be gone for about 4 days, and we'll return bearing an ass-load of pictures from Blizzcon and Disneyland.

It's ok.

You know you're jealous.

'Til then, this is The RogueKitty, signin' off!

RogueKitty Productions

It's official! I have my own slogan for my videos! ^_^ All my videos now bear the slogan for RogueKitty Productions, and can be seen here. This will also be the seal my WoW Machinima movies will bear.

Also, in celebration of the upcoming Halloween, and all things creepy, I made a fan video for Pan's Labyrinth.

In other news, I've begun work on a comic based upon an Osmosis Jones RP Alex and I have been writing. It'll be called Jennifer (as that's the name of the city this story takes place in), and once I've drawn at least 3 pages of the comic, I'm going to start posting it on my deviantART account. Currently, only the cover is finished, and can be viewed here.

Art

Art. A simple word that means many things to many people. Passion, anger, romance, boredom, imagination, frustration; there are few words that can invoke an infinite number of different feelings. To me however, art is simply about freedom, about expressing yourself in any way you see fit. If I want to draw a picture of a dragon peacefully resting near an enchanted river, I should be able to. Likewise, if I just want to draw god damned gay smut, I should be able to, and no one has the right to say otherwise.

Not everyone shares that view of course, and if you believe in the 100% complete freedom to post whatever picture you want on any online art gallery, you will be sorely disappointed. In the case of the Yaoi Galleries, you're restricted by almost painfully uptight rules - and you'd think a website dedicated to yaoi of all things would be more open-minded. Sheezy Art, while less strict about what you can and can't post, suffers from one of the worst art communities I've seen. Not that the art featured there is bad, but that the people are elitist, close-minded, or both. Go there, and prepare to be flung out on your ass mere minutes later.

DeviantART, so far, is the only gallery that hasn't disappointed me.

For these reasons, I'll be abandoning my Yaoi Gallery and Sheezy Art accounts, and I'll be creating my own website. I'll house all my art, fiction, and videos there for anyone who cares enough to enjoy. I'll also have it be a sort of 'hub', providing links to any other public galleries I choose to remain at, as well as my blog.

^_^ So be sure to keep an eye out for that. 'Til then, continue to check out my deviantART account and Youtube account for updates.

You Wacky Internet Trolls

The internet troll is a solitary creature, most often found living in the dank depths of their mother's basement, emerging only at night to raid the kitchen for Cheetos. The internet troll spends it's days lurking the internet, most commonly art galleries and forums, doing anything it can to stir up trouble for no other reason than to see how people will react. This may either be a plea for attention, or more likely, the troll is merely a bored douche bag with too much time on his hands.

I became a victim of the internet troll at my Yaoi Gallery account today. Some jackass reported over half of my pictures and got them deleted as a violation of the website's Terms of Service. I assume the troll claimed them to be Furry artwork, which (for whatever reason) isn't allowed at the Y!Galleries.

The artwork in question was all Osmosis Jones artwork...and the characters in question were not furries of any sort. In fact, there's a section of the website (small though it is) dedicated to Osmosis Jones fanart. The movie isn't exactly crazy popular though, so I guess I can understand someone mistaking the characters, Thrax at least, for some kind of furry.

The interesting thing though, is that it's always the same handful of artwork that gets reported. A little less than half of my Osmosis Jones fanart is still there, safe and sound. So yeah, I'm almost 100% sure it's just a troll with nothing better to do.

Either way, it's annoying. Y!Galleries is painfully uptight about the artwork they allow on their gallery. Considering it's a website dedicated entirely to male homosexual artwork, you'd think they'd be a wee bit more open-minded. Apparently not.

I'm trying to contact a website moderator to resolve this issue. Here's hoping.

Rock Bottom Is Cozy

I'm still rather obsessed with Osmosis Jones, having already gone so far as to make a fan-virus. Well, I made a fan-cell now. Meet Thane Ransom, an Immunity officer from the City of Jennifer. Woo! It's cozy here at rock bottom.

It amuses me to no end that he's a smoker...what with bein' a white blood cell and all. XD

Speaking of rock bottom, I've also made 3 music videos using clips from the movie itself (the animated bits anyway).

WARNING:: If you have a problem with heavily implied man-lovin', avoid my videos. I'm a twisted lil' number, and Ozzy/Thrax makes me one very happy panda.

Also, if you do intend to watch them, make sure to click the words "Watch In High Quality" on the bottom right corner of the video...

*ahem*

Ye have been warned.

On an entirely unrelated note, I've been having a hard time working on my World of Warcraft movies. Turns out my computer is rather underpowered, so using Adobe After Effects is proving to be rather taxing, especially when it comes down to getting the rendered video to play. I've been experimenting with different methods of rendering to see what I can come up with, but really, I think this is a sign that my computer is officially underpowered and I should invest in a new one.

@_@ Aw snap.

Interwebz

Well, we're moved into our new place...somewhat. We still have a lot of unpacking to do here, which is putting a damper on my movie-making. We only recently got our computers and internet hooked up, soooo I should be able to get back to work on Diary: Outland soon. ^_^

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Oh Snap

I'll start things off with another screenshot from Diary: Outland...

The Darkshire Inn, full to bursting with the night owls of the Alliance. Cameo appearances by Meuh'Raynd, my first character, the night elf druid clapping her hands and defying gravity, and Saelan, my friend's paladin alt, who's the one dancing for her. ^_^

This scene was surprisingly difficult, probably because this is the first time I've put so much on one screen, and I don't really know how I feel about the finished project. But then I realize, you know, I've started filming the scenes that actually feature Kallindra, I'm sure that I'll learn some new tricks between now and the end, or just become entirely unsatisfied with the scenes I've given you previews of and redo them entirely...well, some of them anyway...^_~

In other news, the weather seems to be getting warmer just to spite me and Alex for having the audacity to move. "What's that? You want a nice, air-conditioned room? Well, fuck you bitch!" ...then it radiates it's hatred for me in the form of fire. Needless to say, it sucks shacking up in a garage when it's this hot.

On a happier note though, thanks to Alex's dad, we have tickets to Blizzcon! Oh holy hell YES!! I feel like exploding with pure happy. You can be sure that there will be plenty of photos up here when we do get back...But, that's still a little ways off...^^

And now for something awesome.

Of Trolls and Nosebleeds

Let it be known that I am incredibly shallow when it comes to Warcraft trolls. In fact, the only troll model I can usually stand to look at ingame is the jungle troll model, which is of course the model that playable trolls use, and several aggressive NPCs in areas like Stranglethorn Vale and Tanaris; though the latter are technically sand trolls. Jungle trolls are tall, lean, cunning, have fantastic voices, and are just downright sexy. Like, the kind of sexy where my nose will inevitably explode S.E.X.Y.

A male, and female, jungle troll, as the playable models appear. This is - and always will be - the best looking model for trolls...at least in this one's humble opinion. :P

Trolls are the oldest race on Azeroth, as such, they became very widespread and there are many different kinds of trolls. Today though, we're focusing on their larger cousins - much larger cousins - forest trolls and ice trolls.

Before the dungeon Zul'Aman became available, all forest trolls either looked like really, really green jungle trolls, or they had a buffer, but really ugly and blocky "unique" model, which is still seen in the game in certain areas. To honor the forest-troll themed dungeon however, a new model was given to the forest trolls inside...

Oh good lord. He's way too big, he has a fat head, and he looks greasy. He still retains that intelligent and cunning look that jungle trolls do, and really, I admit that, as far as detail goes, the model looks good. But he isn't attractive in the slightest. I was very much aware that forest trolls were much larger than jungle trolls, and I'd always hoped that they'd eventually get their own unique model...well, it happened, and I suppose it's hypocritical of me to hate it as much as I do.

You may think hate is a harsh word. But it isn't.
LOATHE is a harsh word, and loathe is how I feel towards the newly-revealed ice troll model for Wrath of the Lich King.

This, my friends, is what hides under your bed at night and makes small children cry. At first glance he may look like a pale forest troll, but if you look at his face, you can see his nose droops, as do his eyelids. He just looks...retarded, and ugly. I...am stunned, really.

Now, I have a male troll rogue I play on occasion, named Yenniku (no relation to Vol'jin's son), who I'd dubbed as an ice troll, way back when...

I love Yenniku. He's smooth, he's sexy, he has a bitchin' do, and a tendency to do random flips in the air when he busts out the dance. He's also very, very vain about how he looks. Like, blood elf vain. In fact, if he went to Northrend to see his family, he'd probably throw himself off a cliff out of embarrassment, and fear of catching the ugly.

I'm too attached to the idea of him being at least related to ice trolls though, so from this day forward, he's only half ice troll.

You may also notice that neither ice nor forest trolls seem to have females present. Either they don't have new models yet, or they reproduce through other, scarier means. I am however rather glad I can't see what the females look like. Kind of like a female ogre, some things are best left unseen.

And thus ends my shallow rant!

Diary: Outland - Still Workin'

I'm one scene away from finishing my first clutch of footage from Diary: Outland, before we finally see Kallindra herself. This group of footage is my "intro" to Duskwood, so to speak, and I've had fun working with these, as well as including cameos for friends...and myself. ^_~

Below are a couple more screenshots. Be sure to click on them for bigger images. And keep in mind that the quality of the screenshots leaves a lot to be desired. If a character looks at all blurry, it's because they were moving when I took the screenshot, and there isn't too much I can do about that.

This was a fun one - the central area of Darkshire, where a little gnome warrior tries in vain to fix her mount, and a night elf druid skulks alone in the shadows. The human paladin and rogue towards the left are cameo appearances of Balidor and Nikkita, two characters a friend and I leveled on Scilla before we rerolled Horde.

Kallindra's elekk parked outside of the Darkshire Inn. Originally it was just going to be the elekk alone, but that looked a bit dull on it's own, so I added a cameo of my dwarf hunter, Thargara, and her pet hyena, Scrapmetal, who I can assure you will both appear later on in the movie.

The latter scene proved problematic at first, since I had to have the shadows you see follow Thargara and Scrapmetal as they left the scene...which meant I had to copy them and move them slightly about four times, since the shadows kept veering away as the characters moved. But, the final scene came out nicely.

Diary: Outland - Newbie

For a while now I've been gathering the skills and programs I need to start making World of Warcraft Machinima; video game movies for those of you not gaming-savvy. I've been making small practice-videos, studying tutorials, and just experimenting in general, and now I'm beginning work on my first real movie, which will be called Diary: Outland.

Diary: Outland
will detail the adventures of my draenei huntress, Kallindra, and will focus primarily on, you guessed it: Outland, aka Draenor.

Kallindra is an alt of mine; 70, but still just an alt, so one might ask, "Well, why her? Why not your main?" In that case, that'd be Rynja, my tauren warrior. I was tempted to make a movie starring her, and I'm sure one day I will, but for a full-blown story, I felt Kallindra would be the better choice. She's one of my youngest characters and still has a lot of growing up to do. She's young, naive, very biased against the Horde, and more than a little self-righteous at times. Creating a story about her, the people from all sides of all wars she meets, and how she grows up and out of several of her flaws, was more compelling than telling a story about how I pwn'd some noobz and got teh phat epix.

This movie shall be told in a manner that indicates you're reading it out of Kallindra's own diary. There will be no voice acting, but abundant music and sound effects. You won't have any trouble understanding what's going on with Kallindra narrating the way.

The story will start in Duskwood, and the first movie will be the prologue, detailing how she met her companion, the frostsaber she refers to as Cheshire. This prologue isn't just there to set up the story, but also for me to truly hone my skills on before I get onto the first chapter, wherein she'll arrive in Hellfire Peninsula for the first time.

Below is a little screenshot of what's to come. The movie is still very much under construction, but check back if you're interested, for screenshots, updates, and maybe a snippet from the movie itself. ^_^

The worgen of Duskwood, displaying their ferocity.

I'll update as frequently as I can, and I'm working round the clock to get my first real machinima movie done and on the web for everyone to enjoy! 'Til my next update then~!

I'm So Sick

I've been seriously fangirling over Osmosis Jones lately, so I decided to start an RP story based off that universe with Alex. Last night I began designing one of my evil characters, the rabies virus, and here's the result. ^_^ I'm very proud of how she came out, and I plan to start designing a white blood cell cop next.

On the subject of Osmosis Jones, Thrax is sexy. o_o Really, really sexy...for a lil' microscopic virus.

On another note, I've started another YouTube account called Munkedkitty, where I'll post songs that I've tweaked to make them sound like Alvin & the Chipmunks are singing 'em. If you wanna hear the chipmunks (and chipettes) singing everything from adorable lovey songs to hardcore rock songs, head that way. :D

Velociraptor Manor

There's a computer game called Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis that I tend to play almost as religiously as World of Warcraft. It's a highly addictive "god game" of sorts, in that you have near total control over your own Jurassic Park, or Site B. The former is, obviously, a park like in the movie. You choose whether or not you'll create an amazing, 5-star, pricey-as-hell park, or just a cheaply-priced deathtrap.

Site B, like in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, is an island where your dinosaurs roam free, living our their natural lives. As a nature geek who's always been enthralled by dinosaurs, I prefer to play around in Site B, and try and imagine myself running this island paradise, where I could learn all I could ever dream of about them.

The amazing thing about this game, this genre in general, is that, depending on your actions, full-blown dramas could play out on your screen, influenced, encouraged, or silenced by your all-powerful clicker. JPOG is no exception.

Site B. I'd just finished releasing my dinosaurs to roam free amongst the rolling hills, steep mountains, dense jungles and lush wetlands to their heart's content. One of my favorite groups to target was my pack of five velociraptors, whom I'd named Pack Alpha. A proud dominant female (named after her pack) led this group with an iron talon, and for a few in-game months, everything was great for them. All the raptors were healthy, food was plentiful, the weather merciful, and they'd managed to avoid larger predators and my rival pack of raptors, Beta, and their fierce matriarch of the same name.

Alpha had found her way into the marshes of Site B in their search for food. A large herd of parasauralophus lived nearby, and downing one of those would mean her pack wouldn't go hungry for a good while.

They soon found, and killed, one of the large herbivores, and began to feast. Their victory was short-lived however, as the rumble of the ground beneath crushing feet, and an ear-shattering roar heralded the arrival of the resident Dark Lady of the jungle, the tyrannosaurus-rex.

It had been proven before that, despite her proud, regal stature, Lady was not above scavenging from other predators. A small pack of raptors? Candy from a baby.

Despite being considerably smaller, pack Alpha felt confident with their numbers. The pack hunkered together, all eyes on Lady, barking and hissing angrily at her, standing between her and their kill. Two raptors soon broke away, leaping to tear at Lady's sides. She shrugged them off like fleas, pinned one beneath her feet and tore it apart. She grabbed the other one in her mouth, and with a quick shake of the head, snapped it's spine like a twig. Lady turned back towards the carcass, to find it abandoned. The other three raptors had turned-tail and fled, leaving Lady to finish the feast alone.

Alpha had lost two members of her pack in a matter of seconds. This didn't bode well for her.

Indeed, her luck was only going to get worse. A few in-game days later, and the 3-raptor pack is wandering through an open field in search of a nighttime snack. A thunderous roar from their left, and Lady comes crashing through the trees, snatching up another member of the pack, shaking it like a rag doll, and swallowing it whole.

Alpha, in her panic, leaps up and latches onto Lady's neck. A roar and a shake, and Alpha is back on the ground. Lady leans down, thrashing her with her teeth, and sending her skidding away. Alpha, badly wounded, starts to limp away frantically. Her one remaining pack member, her own mate, hurries after her to give her support, as Lady devours their fallen comrade.

The next morning, and Lady has caught up with them again, determined to rid her territory of these pests. Alpha, still badly injured, tries to limp away, while her mate runs straight for Lady, leaping up at her flank and tearing into it. At the cost of her mate's life, Alpha escapes again.

Several in-game days later, and Alpha is still badly wounded, and alone. She's growing weaker and weaker by the day, unable to take down large prey on her own, and unable to run fast enough to catch smaller prey in her current state. She lays down quietly beside the lake, lapping gently at the water. She's hardly surprised when those booming footsteps catch up with her for a final time.

Needless to say, Pack Alpha was wiped out. Pack Beta have never run across Lady, though they have lost one raptor to the roaming spinosaurus.

This whole ordeal barely took a few hours on my computer, but in the game, it was much, much longer. This is just one example of all the drama you can have play out on your screen...and this one was completely by accident. ^_^

All The Birds Are Singin'

So...thanks to mom and Alex, I've sat through a 45ish-minute film called Dr. Horrible, which can be downloaded here: http://www.drhorrible.com/. Download it, like, right now. It's amazingly worth it. Definately an entertaining musical! Besides, anything that has a character called Bad Horse (the thoroughbred of sin) can't possibly be not worth watching.

Another funny video worth watching is here. There's a song called Barbie Girl, performed by the group Aqua, and the song playing in the WoW video there is the German version of said song. The creator of the movie, instead of directly translating it, decided to just make subtitles that sounded somewhat like the words in the song. It's...hilariously stupid! ^_^ FISH POKE!!

And finally...Alex and I watched The Dark Knight in Imax recently. It's easily the best movie I've seen so far this year. It blew Iron Man right out of the water. It's...stunning. Simply stunning. You'll constantly be on the edge of your seat, wondering what the Joker will do next. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll quake in your seat, and when you finally leave the theater, blinking into the sunlight, you'll be shaking. Literally shaking, and at a total loss for words.

There really are no words that can do The Dark Night justice. It's a masterpiece that deserves every penny it gets.

Go see it. K? K.

Three's A Crowd

There are several different "levels" of monsters in World of Warcraft. That being, how difficult they are to kill. For example, the majority of the creatures in WoW are non-elite monsters. This means that a single person, regardless of what class they are, or how they choose to play that class, can kill them easily. After this things get a bit trickier. Many quests feature 2-man monsters, most of them elite. They're rough for one person to fight alone, but it isn't impossible for certain classes, such as hunters or druids. Once we enter the 3-man monsters however, it gets very difficult. Many people opt to bring along a healer at the very least to keep them alive while they chip away the elite monster's health.

Levels like this continue on, from 5-man dungeon elites to 25-man raid bosses. But my concern was with three, 3-man elite monsters roaming the Bone Wastes of Terokkar Forest. Kallindra, my now level 66 draenei hunter, and her loyal frostsaber, Cheshire, first set out to slay a deadly frostwyrm called Teribus the Cursed.

Quite, erm...quite easy for a supposed 3-man monster.

The next target on my list was a gargantuan bone worm named Hai'shulud, the Bone Emperor. Upon summoning him my screen was immediately filled by one of his stomach-plates...he was immense! I fought him down to 20% health, before he killed me. Damn, I thought. Well, I got him that far down! I'll just try again!

I made my way back to my body, and as I healed up, I noticed the bones on the ground churning wildly. I called Cheshire to my side, edged closer, and Hai'shulud burst from the ground again. I frantically sent my pet in to attack, and fired a few arrows into his stomach. Just as Cheshire was about to fall, the Bone Emperor keeled over dead...at 80%. I'm still not entirely sure what happened there, but hey, I'm not going to complain!

Two down, one to go. The final target on my list was the matriarch Terokkarantula, who ruled over a vast swarm of terokkar widows. I fought my way through her drones, peered over a hill, and was greeted by the sight of quite possibly the biggest spider I've ever seen in this game. I readied a flaming trap, called Cheshire to my side, and the fight was on.

At the end of the day, three 3-man monsters were dead at my feet.

Hunters aren't overpowered or anything. ^_~

Pure Fun

There are plenty of fun video games out there, but almost all of them have something, even if it's only one thing, that you dislike. Something that feels more like a chore than a game, but something you more than likely push through anyway. The Spore Creature Creator doesn't have anything like that, and it opens the window to show you what the rest of the game will be like. Absolutely perfected. Pure fun.

The tool itself is just about perfect - rarely glitchy, overall extremely tolerant to even the most wild imagination. I've already made several creatures that I wish to share with you. Click the links below to see the creature, as well as read a
description about it on the right side of the page.

In other news, I applied for a job at Wal-Mart. If I get it, it'll be my first "real" job away from home, so, it should be good for me. And more importantly, I'll have some money coming in. As much as I may loathe my fellow man, the thought of the money I'll be making is sure to keep me sane...and from biting anyone's face off.

Bein' Great Must Suck

Whoops, I've been neglecting the blog. :O Fixing! Fixing!

For the past few days, my computer's been acting odd. I compressed some files and got rid of a few games and program
s I didn't use, and everything seems OK again. So, I don't have an excuse not to blog anymore. XD

I recently got my hands on a game for the DS called Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of Time. Three days later and I'd beaten the game, or at least the two main storylines. You can easily get 20+hours of gameplay just from the storylines, and I was pleasantly surprised by the story itself. Rarely do you find a deep and involving story (not to mention outright dark at times) in a Pokemon game, but Explorers of Time decided to throw a wrench into that by having one of the best Pokemon stories I've heard, if not the best, and that's including the movies.

Explorers of Time has a counterpart, Explorers of Darkness, which I plan to get my hands on as soon as I have the money.

In WoW, my warrior respecc'd fury so she could have an easier time doing her dailies. It's quite refreshing to go from a tank to "horrible dual-wielding rape", and she definitely gets her dailies done faster, which means she makes plenty of money to swap back and forth between fury and protection depending on the situation. However, it does come at a cost - as a tank doing my dailies, I tend to get a lot of sympathy from enemy players, who leave me alone in favor of killing the warlock a few yards away. As a perfectly capable DPS warrior though, I'm no longer spared the blade and am a frequent target of attacks from the Alliance. Every rose has it's thorn I suppose.

Another advantage though is more of an aesthetic one. Rynja looks a lot better in her fury gear than she does in her prot gear. Now, I'm not the kind of player who forsakes better gear because it doesn't look as good, but it's still nice to finally have armor that matches somewhat. (Click for a bigger image)

Her weapons could still use some work. I mean, the one on the right hand is drooling and blinking. That ain't normal.

After finishing my dailies, I got back to work on my now 62 draenei hunter, Kallindra. I'm hoping to have a level 70 Alliance character to level alongside my two 70 Horde characters by the time the expansion is released. I'm all about experiencing content from both factions, and besides, Alliance is my preferred faction, so I feel very much in my element when I'm playing Kallindra.

Being a hunter, particularly a beast mastery (or BM) hunter, Kallindra has insanely high survivability. A one-on-one fight with a monster is usually a simple affair. I send in my frostsaber, Cheshire, to claw and bite and keep the beast's attention away from me, while I fire a few well-aimed arrows into it's spine. Sometimes though, Cheshire has a hard time keeping the creature still, and it'll realize, "Hey, these arrows kinda hurt", and it'll turn to face me. Then all I have to do is feign death, and it goes back to Cheshire. Apparently, monsters in WoW are stupid as hell to fall for that, I mean, it didn't even hit me before I "died". That or it thinks I had heart-failure from it's sheer awesomeness.

If you couldn't tell, this makes hunters the single easiest class to level and play in WoW, taking little to no skill to scrape by. A majority of the hunter population are "huntards", so on a PvP server, a lot of people target hunters as an easy kill, or as I like to call 'em, "gank fodder".

Occasionally though, the stars and planets all align, and the light shines down upon one of these seemingly unsuspecting targets, as the nearby undead warrior readies his greatsword for the kill. However, the hunter isn't oblivious to his presence at all. Because this hunter is smart enough to be tracking humanoids. She's known he's been following her for about three full minutes now. She doesn't pay him any mind though, continuing to slaughter her way through hoards of helboars, and smiles to herself as the warrior charges at her...and right into a freezing trap. Frozen in a block of ice, the warrior can only watch helplessly as this smug hunter finishes killing the helboar, and then turns her full attention to him. As her battle-cat leaps at him for a stunning blow, and the hunter turns and runs, readying her arrows, the warrior feels this sense of dread. That sense of dread anyone feels when they realize they just pissed of a really, really good hunter.

Hunter is not hard to play. Be it in PvP or PvE. I recently had an experience in the latter field, where I was killing flayer whelps in a gorge. Suddenly, two more whelps appear next to me. Ok, no problem, I freeze one, and send Cheshire to gather the second. I resume my shooting. Then a worm burst from the earth behind me, spitting poison. I keep shooting and freezing, while Cheshire runs left and right trying to keep all, or at least most, of the creatures on him. Whenever one or two would fall, another would rise up to take it's place. In the background, where I have iTunes pulled up, Line and Sinker by Billy Talent kicks in. I'm feeling absolutely badass as I kill hoards of enemy NPCs, until finally, as the song dies down, their corpses lay strewn at my feet, and I loot my prizes.

During this time, a tauren druid had been giving me some grief. Or at least trying. He was horrible. A smart hunter has a very unfair advantage against feral druids, and I'm the type of gamer who leaps at every advantage she has for total overkill. This tauren was in his cat form, trying to maul me. All I had to do was use scare beast to send him running, and a few seconds and several arrows later, it was all over. Due to his stupidity, I'd kill him every time I stumbled across him that day (two more times). Unfortunately, the second time I found him, he had friends - two blood elves. A shadow priest, and a prot paladin.

Keep in mind they're same-level characters as me. No problem, right? OK, actually, I was panicking a bit. I kill the druid, freeze the paladin, and start kiting the shadow priest around, which is easier said than done. It's hard to keep a caster at bay. The paladin was thankfully stupid enough to keep running into my freezing traps. I eventually killed the priest, and turned to the paladin. We were both out of mana, and he seemed content with just attacking my pet. Idiot. Oh wait, no, he just killed Cheshire. Shit-cakes. Oh well, at least he's just about dead. Oh wait. He just used Lay on Hands. He's at full HP...oh hey, the shadow priest is back.

I'm in the middle of Hellfire Peninsula. I see in the distance the nearest Alliance base, and start running towards it. I see and opening, and get on my mount to put more distance between myself and the two very, very angry elves, who quickly mount up to continue the chase.

I make it safe and sound into my town. But these guys were ballsy, and they wanted my ass dead. They run right into the middle of the Temple of Telhamat. The guards were about their level, so the paladin managed to keep them distracted while the shadow priest ran for me. Luckily for me though, more and more guards kept appearing to attack the elves, who had to back out of the base. I wasn't about to let this slide though. I, with the guards, chase them right into the dirt and kill them. I strut back into town, feeling smug, and start selling my loot from a previous fight. I turn around, and see them in the distance, having respawned. As they try and heal and discuss a new strategy, the paladin becomes uncomfortably aware that there's now an arrow sticking out of his priest friend's forehead. He turns around to see that damned draenei notching another arrow and aiming for him.

It was a rich, full day.

And now for something completely different!

Gimme Envy, Gimme Malice, Gimme Your Attention

My Horde characters are entering their second day on Stormscale, and so far I've avoided the server, opting instead to play my Alliance character on Executus. All my little draenei hunter has to do really, is do Battlegrounds for badges, so she can cruise around Outland in style on a Black War Tiger. So, I should probably consider paying some guy to inject ecstasy into my spine constantly while I'm in Warsong Gulch, 'cuz that's the only way I'm gonna be able to get through that torture. x_x

When I'm not frolicking in Battlegrounds with the retarded crack-babies of the Alliance, I'm usually chilling out with my new alt, Keltae, a female tauren druid who's now nice and cozy on Stormscale, nearing her 10th level and bear form. As with most of my characters, she also has a backstory in the works. In her case, she's totally blind, and has a little black hawk owl named Night with her, acting as her eyes. Despite the fact that her other senses are near super-human (or would that be super-cow?), having a sharp-eyed companion is still very handy.

I decided to draw a picture of Keltae. Tauren women are very, very hard to draw, and this is only my second attempt at it. It's also my first attempt at foreshortening, which is why her left arm looks a bit...off. I got lazy around the time I had to start working on the background, so I just took a screenshot of Mulgore and slapped it on there. Overall, I'm proud of the way it came out. ^_^

And on an entirely unrelated note, I have yet another Youtube video to show you. This time it's in english though. :O *GASP*! The universe is going to end, so, you should probably start hiding under your desks.

Anyway, here's another Monster Hunter video. The music goes so-so with the action on screen, and the quality of video isn't all that great, but the song, I think, is good, and worth listening to if nothing else. ^_^ Full credit for the video goes to the original creator.

Blogging - ur doin it wrong

My second day as a blogger, and I almost forgot to post. Go me! x_x

I recently transferred my two main WoW characters off Scilla and onto Stormscale. As far as the random ganking goes (especially on Quel'Danas Isle), nothing has really changed, for better or worse. I got to start off my day on the new server with my big ol' tauren warrior getting her ass beat by a gnome rogue named "Goodburger". He's gonna have to get used to looking over his shoulder from now on though, as he's made my hit-list. IMO, people who gank during dailies for fun are some of the worst kinds of people.

The ganking aside, Stormscale is so far turning out to be a lot better than Scilla on the PvE front. My boyfriend got his warlock into a good heroic dungeon group in a few minutes time, which is definitely promising, and more than could be said for Scilla groups. The economy on Stormscale is also quite good, albeit a bit pricier. But the wider selection of items makes up for it. :3

For the first time today, I did all of the dailies that the Isle of Quel'Danas had to offer, excluding the few that have you leave the island, as a tank. Oh sweet juicy Jesus I never wanna have to do that alone again. As a tank, my damage output isn't exactly high, so poor Rynja would stand there, hacking away at a monster, then Ganky McGankerson would show up and kick her tail into next week...then steal the kill. Bastards. But it'll all be worth it in the long run when I get my sexy shield, necklace, and tabard. Fancy!

My blood elf rogue, Roguekitty, wasn't able to make much use of anything other than the tabard and pricey 1,000g title, but the latter was totally worth it. Now I feel big and important (despite being a tiny little blood elf), strutting around with Roguekitty of the Shattered Sun over my head in big bold letters.

Steering away from WoW, I took a look at the banner I have over my blog, and decided I'm not all that satisfied with it, and starting tonight or tomorrow, I'll begin the work of re-drawing it. I want to make the background transparent instead of white, and change the color of the letters. The black letters don't show up so well with dark-furred Roguekitty leaning on 'em. >_<

And now for something completely different: while surfing around on Youtube, I stumble across this funny little Monster Hunter video, made by a Japanese player, who I swear must've been high or something while filming this. Fun to watch, and with an annoyingly catchy song to boot! Full credit of course goes to the creator of the video.

Peer Pressure is Grape-Flavor

My mom does it - my dad does it - my little sister does it - I finally gave in to the temptation and started a blog of my own. All that delicious peer pressure aside, I really do think that this'll be good for me in the long run. I doubt I'll update this blog daily, but it should hopefully serve to keep my creative gears a-turnin'. With each post I'll try and include a little picture of some sort (today, that'll be my new avatar), and the writing will keep me from becoming rusty in that department as well.

Expect to come here and find news of video games...lots and lots of video games. Primarily World of Warcraft, Monster Hunter, and Pokemon. Perhaps a little dash of my progress in writing, drawing and machinima-making as well. ^_^

I don't really have much to blog about, so I'll just show you a randomly cute video and be on my way.

Blood Elf women need this dance animation. No, seriously. WTB less MTV bullshit and more random anime dances. :D
