Oh Snap

I'll start things off with another screenshot from Diary: Outland...

The Darkshire Inn, full to bursting with the night owls of the Alliance. Cameo appearances by Meuh'Raynd, my first character, the night elf druid clapping her hands and defying gravity, and Saelan, my friend's paladin alt, who's the one dancing for her. ^_^

This scene was surprisingly difficult, probably because this is the first time I've put so much on one screen, and I don't really know how I feel about the finished project. But then I realize, you know, I've started filming the scenes that actually feature Kallindra, I'm sure that I'll learn some new tricks between now and the end, or just become entirely unsatisfied with the scenes I've given you previews of and redo them entirely...well, some of them anyway...^_~

In other news, the weather seems to be getting warmer just to spite me and Alex for having the audacity to move. "What's that? You want a nice, air-conditioned room? Well, fuck you bitch!" ...then it radiates it's hatred for me in the form of fire. Needless to say, it sucks shacking up in a garage when it's this hot.

On a happier note though, thanks to Alex's dad, we have tickets to Blizzcon! Oh holy hell YES!! I feel like exploding with pure happy. You can be sure that there will be plenty of photos up here when we do get back...But, that's still a little ways off...^^

And now for something awesome.

Of Trolls and Nosebleeds

Let it be known that I am incredibly shallow when it comes to Warcraft trolls. In fact, the only troll model I can usually stand to look at ingame is the jungle troll model, which is of course the model that playable trolls use, and several aggressive NPCs in areas like Stranglethorn Vale and Tanaris; though the latter are technically sand trolls. Jungle trolls are tall, lean, cunning, have fantastic voices, and are just downright sexy. Like, the kind of sexy where my nose will inevitably explode S.E.X.Y.

A male, and female, jungle troll, as the playable models appear. This is - and always will be - the best looking model for trolls...at least in this one's humble opinion. :P

Trolls are the oldest race on Azeroth, as such, they became very widespread and there are many different kinds of trolls. Today though, we're focusing on their larger cousins - much larger cousins - forest trolls and ice trolls.

Before the dungeon Zul'Aman became available, all forest trolls either looked like really, really green jungle trolls, or they had a buffer, but really ugly and blocky "unique" model, which is still seen in the game in certain areas. To honor the forest-troll themed dungeon however, a new model was given to the forest trolls inside...

Oh good lord. He's way too big, he has a fat head, and he looks greasy. He still retains that intelligent and cunning look that jungle trolls do, and really, I admit that, as far as detail goes, the model looks good. But he isn't attractive in the slightest. I was very much aware that forest trolls were much larger than jungle trolls, and I'd always hoped that they'd eventually get their own unique model...well, it happened, and I suppose it's hypocritical of me to hate it as much as I do.

You may think hate is a harsh word. But it isn't.
LOATHE is a harsh word, and loathe is how I feel towards the newly-revealed ice troll model for Wrath of the Lich King.

This, my friends, is what hides under your bed at night and makes small children cry. At first glance he may look like a pale forest troll, but if you look at his face, you can see his nose droops, as do his eyelids. He just looks...retarded, and ugly. I...am stunned, really.

Now, I have a male troll rogue I play on occasion, named Yenniku (no relation to Vol'jin's son), who I'd dubbed as an ice troll, way back when...

I love Yenniku. He's smooth, he's sexy, he has a bitchin' do, and a tendency to do random flips in the air when he busts out the dance. He's also very, very vain about how he looks. Like, blood elf vain. In fact, if he went to Northrend to see his family, he'd probably throw himself off a cliff out of embarrassment, and fear of catching the ugly.

I'm too attached to the idea of him being at least related to ice trolls though, so from this day forward, he's only half ice troll.

You may also notice that neither ice nor forest trolls seem to have females present. Either they don't have new models yet, or they reproduce through other, scarier means. I am however rather glad I can't see what the females look like. Kind of like a female ogre, some things are best left unseen.

And thus ends my shallow rant!

Diary: Outland - Still Workin'

I'm one scene away from finishing my first clutch of footage from Diary: Outland, before we finally see Kallindra herself. This group of footage is my "intro" to Duskwood, so to speak, and I've had fun working with these, as well as including cameos for friends...and myself. ^_~

Below are a couple more screenshots. Be sure to click on them for bigger images. And keep in mind that the quality of the screenshots leaves a lot to be desired. If a character looks at all blurry, it's because they were moving when I took the screenshot, and there isn't too much I can do about that.

This was a fun one - the central area of Darkshire, where a little gnome warrior tries in vain to fix her mount, and a night elf druid skulks alone in the shadows. The human paladin and rogue towards the left are cameo appearances of Balidor and Nikkita, two characters a friend and I leveled on Scilla before we rerolled Horde.

Kallindra's elekk parked outside of the Darkshire Inn. Originally it was just going to be the elekk alone, but that looked a bit dull on it's own, so I added a cameo of my dwarf hunter, Thargara, and her pet hyena, Scrapmetal, who I can assure you will both appear later on in the movie.

The latter scene proved problematic at first, since I had to have the shadows you see follow Thargara and Scrapmetal as they left the scene...which meant I had to copy them and move them slightly about four times, since the shadows kept veering away as the characters moved. But, the final scene came out nicely.

Diary: Outland - Newbie

For a while now I've been gathering the skills and programs I need to start making World of Warcraft Machinima; video game movies for those of you not gaming-savvy. I've been making small practice-videos, studying tutorials, and just experimenting in general, and now I'm beginning work on my first real movie, which will be called Diary: Outland.

Diary: Outland
will detail the adventures of my draenei huntress, Kallindra, and will focus primarily on, you guessed it: Outland, aka Draenor.

Kallindra is an alt of mine; 70, but still just an alt, so one might ask, "Well, why her? Why not your main?" In that case, that'd be Rynja, my tauren warrior. I was tempted to make a movie starring her, and I'm sure one day I will, but for a full-blown story, I felt Kallindra would be the better choice. She's one of my youngest characters and still has a lot of growing up to do. She's young, naive, very biased against the Horde, and more than a little self-righteous at times. Creating a story about her, the people from all sides of all wars she meets, and how she grows up and out of several of her flaws, was more compelling than telling a story about how I pwn'd some noobz and got teh phat epix.

This movie shall be told in a manner that indicates you're reading it out of Kallindra's own diary. There will be no voice acting, but abundant music and sound effects. You won't have any trouble understanding what's going on with Kallindra narrating the way.

The story will start in Duskwood, and the first movie will be the prologue, detailing how she met her companion, the frostsaber she refers to as Cheshire. This prologue isn't just there to set up the story, but also for me to truly hone my skills on before I get onto the first chapter, wherein she'll arrive in Hellfire Peninsula for the first time.

Below is a little screenshot of what's to come. The movie is still very much under construction, but check back if you're interested, for screenshots, updates, and maybe a snippet from the movie itself. ^_^

The worgen of Duskwood, displaying their ferocity.

I'll update as frequently as I can, and I'm working round the clock to get my first real machinima movie done and on the web for everyone to enjoy! 'Til my next update then~!

I'm So Sick

I've been seriously fangirling over Osmosis Jones lately, so I decided to start an RP story based off that universe with Alex. Last night I began designing one of my evil characters, the rabies virus, and here's the result. ^_^ I'm very proud of how she came out, and I plan to start designing a white blood cell cop next.

On the subject of Osmosis Jones, Thrax is sexy. o_o Really, really sexy...for a lil' microscopic virus.

On another note, I've started another YouTube account called Munkedkitty, where I'll post songs that I've tweaked to make them sound like Alvin & the Chipmunks are singing 'em. If you wanna hear the chipmunks (and chipettes) singing everything from adorable lovey songs to hardcore rock songs, head that way. :D
